Do you like to listen to music while you work? Check out the new series of UChicago “Study with Me” videos, featuring beautiful campus scenes each mixed with a different music genre. We've included all three videos—each about and hour long—for you to enjoy below. Featured scenes include the the Main Quadrangles (lo-fi), the Arley D. Cathey Learning Center inside Harper Memorial Library (classical), and the ISAC reading room (jazz).

They’re the perfect combo to help you get through your daily tasks.

 

Arley D. Cathey Learning Center

Tucked away upstairs in Harper Memorial Library on the University of Chicago campus, the Cathey Learning Center is a Harry Potter lover’s dream come true.

Need a quiet space to read, relax or study? Welcome to the Arley D. Cathey Learning Center. Tucked away upstairs in Harper Memorial Library on the University of Chicago campus, the Cathey Learning Center is a Harry Potter lover’s dream come true. With high-vaulted stone ceilings, ornate chandeliers and abundant symbology, it's no wonder UChicago tour guides call this the Hogwarts room! A peaceful playlist of piano and classical music transports you to this sacred space, which generations of University of Chicago students and community members have called home.

Perhaps the most iconic site on the University of Chicago’s campus, the Arley D. Cathey Learning Center is truly one-of-a-kind. Did you know? The Learning Center was named in honor of the late alumnus Arley D. Cathey, PhB’50, for whom four University of Chicago buildings are named.  

ISAC Reading Room

Enjoy the reading room’s high-vaulted ceilings, ornate, Gothic windows, and the highly-detailed Art Deco style—with generous touches of “Egyptomania”-era stenciling.

Did you know? The Institute for the Study of Ancient Cultures (formerly the OI) was established in 1919 by academic and explorer James Henry Breasted–one of the many inspirations for Indiana Jones.
