Parking and Street Closures for 539th Convocation

The University of Chicago's 529th Convocation will take place on Saturday, June 7.

As the University’s Convocation weekend approaches, please be aware of upcoming parking restrictions and road closures that will impact the campus experience for the University community and visitors alike.

The University’s Convocation events will begin Thursday, June 5 with division and school ceremonies. Then on Friday, June 6, the College will host Class Day on the Main Quadrangle from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.  On Saturday, June 7, at 7:00 a.m., the Quad will open to students, guests, staff, and the University community in anticipation of the 539th Convocation ceremony beginning at 9:15 a.m.   

These special events will draw a large number of guests to campus so refer to this website with diagrams showing street closures, parking restrictions and affected bus routes. Please note some parking restrictions and street closures will remain in place through Wednesday, June 11
