Congrats to the winners of the third annual UChicago Intranet Scav Hunt

Congratulations to all who participated in the 2024 UChicago Intranet Scav Hunt contest, which ran from April 24 to May 8, 2024. Participants were asked to recognize their colleagues for their outstanding work, share their favorite spot to take a break during the day, take some time to care for their mental or physical wellbeing, and answer a couple of trivia questions to test their UChicago Scav Hunt history knowledge.
This year, we had a record high of 181 participants compete for a chance to win one of three raffle bundles.
Congratulations to this year’s winners, with a few highlights from their winning submissions:
Jenny Hart, mathematics, statistics, computer science and physics librarian at the Regenstein Library, took home the On-the-Go Bundle for her participation. Hart shared that her favorite place to go for a break to feel refreshed and energized is the Divinity School’s student-run coffeeshop Grounds of Being located in the basement of Swift Hall for its “excellent coffee.”
To take care of her physical or mental health, Hart shared that she attended the reception for the Smart Museum’s exhibit, Meiji Modern: Fifty Years of New Japan. The exhibit, which runs through June 9, is free and open to all UChicago staff and academics.
Daisy Jiang, associate director of Accounting and Budget for International Programs, took home the Cozy Bundle for her participation. Jiang, who works at the Gleacher Center in downtown Chicago, shared that her favorite place to take a break during the day is a stroll along the Chicago Riverwalk.
Mohamed Iburahim Haja Maideen, clinical research coordinator for the Hematopoietic Cellular Therapy Program in the Biological Sciences Division, took home the Health and Wellness Bundle for his participation. He shared that his favorite place to take a break during the day is on UChicago’s Main Quadrangle.
“It is so calming to sit under the trees and have birds and squirrels all around you going about their day,” he said. He usually takes his lunch out to an isolated bench or chair where he can eat his lunch in peace.
