The University of Chicago offers information technology training resources through the IT Services Knowledge Base and LinkedIn Learning. IT professionals can also access Gartner for Technical Professionals. The Academic Technology Solutions team provides training designed for faculty and instructors.

IT Services Knowledge Base

Faculty, students, and staff can access the IT Services Knowledge Base and find answers to common questions by browsing the extensive library of articles.

LinkedIn Learning

LinkedIn Learning offers more than 23,000 courses that cover topics such as certification preparation, programming languages, and artificial intelligence skills.

Academic Technology Training

O'Reilly Learning Platform

The Library offers a subscription to the O’Reilly Learning Platform (previously known as Safari Technical Books). The platform offers extensive content on technology and business topics such as programming, data analytics, and more. It includes access to more than 35,000 book and 30,000 hours of video including interactive tutorials and audio books.

Gartner for Education

Founded in 1979, Gartner is an independent research company that delivers detailed insights, best practices, guidance, and tools for executives and their teams. The University community can access Gartner research and resources through the UChicago Gartner Portal

Gartner for Technical Professionals

Sponsored by the Office of the CIO and Vice Provost for Information Technology, IT Services recently expanded access to Gartner for Technical Professionals (GTP) as a resource for IT Staff across the UChicago community.

The benefits of expanded access to GTP include the following:

  • Research documents, analysts, and consultants to provide insights, tools, and advice to help professionals make data-driven decisions.
  • In-depth information and resources for campus IT professionals in technical planning and decision making, architecture and design, and technology assessment.
