Getting to Know UChicago: Guide for New Hires
Welcome to the University of Chicago—we're happy you've joined in our University community.
Our diverse community is made up of faculty, other academic employees, staff, undergraduate, graduate, and professional students, as well as the University of Chicago Medical Center and its staff members.
We’ve developed “Getting to Know UChicago “— a 12-month process to help newly hired staff members become familiar with the University community. The goal of the program is to provide the support needed for staff members in successfully learning about and acclimating to the University so that they can quickly become productive, engaged, contributing members of the UChicago community.

Note: Some of the resource pages listed below require you to log in to the UChicago Intranet.
New hires generally gain full access to the UChicago Intranet within the first week after their start date, once the individual has activated their CNetID, their HR representative has entered their data into Workday, and the identity management system adds the individual to their correct Grouper groups. If you do not have intranet access after these steps have been completed, email us at uchicagointranet@uchicago.edu.
