WHAT IS ORACLE?

Oracle is a cloud-based suite of enterprise software applications that the University of Chicago uses to manage our daily business activities, including research finances. Thousands of employees across the University use Oracle daily to complete tasks.

Getting Started: How to Log In

  • Select the Log In button in the Oracle Cloud ERP box in the upper left section of this page. Then, select the Company Single Sign-On button and enter your CNetID and password, if needed.

  • For more information, review the Oracle Cloud Navigation Knowledge Base article.

Need To Update Your Oracle Access?

  • To update your access in Oracle, consult your unit’s role assignment owner. They will complete the access request form on your behalf based on the access required for your job responsibilities. Access the list of role assignment owners to identify whom to contact for support.

  • Once role access is granted, applicable training will be assigned in Workday Learning. Some roles require training to be completed before receiving certain system privileges.

  • If workers not directly employed by the University require Oracle access, they must first be added as contingent workers in Workday. For more information, contact your unit’s HR Partner.

WHAT IS ORBIT?

Orbit is the University’s primary reporting tool for financial information. It integrates data from Oracle and other sources to deliver interactive dashboards, charts, and reports. Updated nightly, Orbit helps support informed decision-making across the University by providing a comprehensive view of financial activity.
