Department Printing

Department administrators oversee the Managed Print Service for their units. Learn more about how your department can participate in the service or view the Multi-Function Devices available to University departments.

To access the Managed Print Service, your device is required to be on the University network. If you are working remotely, you can connect to cVPN to submit print jobs.

 

Submitting Print Requests

Driver Installation

  • If your desktop or laptop is managed by IT Services, the desktop engineering team will install the driver.

  • If your desktop or laptop is not managed by IT Services, contact your local desktop support team to install the correct print driver.

The drivers available include the following:

  • Traditional Print Drivers: Devices and users who are linked to the IT Services Active Directory instance.

  • Mobility Print Drivers: print using Apple, Android, and other devices. 

  • Web Portal submission (required for students and guests): Any University faculty or staff with a CNetID can submit a print job using the Web Portal.

Releasing Print Jobs

Note: The first time you use a copy/print/scan machine, tap your UChicago Card on the screen and authenticate with your CNetID and password. After the first time, simply tap your card on the card reader to use it. If you do not have your UChicago Card, you can log in with your CNet ID and password.

  • Release a print job by ‘Tapping’ your UChicago ID card on the card reader.
