Getting Started with Managed Print Services

Accessing the Managed Print Service

To access the Managed Print Service, your device must be connected to the University network. If you are working remotely, you can connect to the University network using cVPN to submit print jobs. 

Submitting Print Requests

If your desktop or laptop is managed by IT Services, the desktop engineering team will install the driver for printing. Departments that manage their own computers should contact their local desktop support team to install the correct print driver.

  • Traditional Print Drivers - Devices and users who are linked to the IT Services Active Directory instance. 

  • Mobility Print Drivers - The managed print system allows users to print using Apple, Android, and other devices.  

  • Printing Web Portal (required for students and guests) - Any University faculty or staff with a CNetID can submit a print job using the Web Portal. 

Releasing Print Jobs 

  • The first time you retrieve a print job, tap your UChicago Card on the printer screen and authenticate with your CNetID and password

  • After the initial login, tap your card on the card reader to release any print job in your queue.

  • If you do not have your UChicago Card, you can log in with your CNetID and password. 

  • View instructions for how to log in to the printer. 

Printing Rates

Printing rates for all paper sizes. (Letter, Legal and Tabloid) 

  • black and white: $0.09 per page 

  • color: $0.15 per page 

  • scan: free
