Note on best practices: Written feedback should be provided at least annually through your unit’s performance management process – your HR Professional can provide more details about the process your unit follows. However, to truly develop employees, you should have frequent feedback conversations throughout the year. Feedback should focus on progress toward defined goals, what employees are doing well, the behaviors or actions you want them to continue doing, and areas where you think they can improve. If there are ongoing performance challenges, please discuss with your HR Professional. If needed, they will also connect with the University’s Employee and Labor Relations team.
